The design process is a growth process. Many of our clients have a well established idea in their mind when they come to us. Others have few ideas initially. Somewhere in each of us is all the little ideas and details that make a home special. It may be the dining room from Grandma's home, a little bistro in Paris or any imaginable experience. Sometimes it may be the desire to have a complete change from a previous home. Often the design process takes over and creates something you may not expect initially. In any case, there is no required amount of input you need to start with. Whatever you have is where we could begin.

Having been involved in the construction of many homes and buildings as a carpenter and tradesman, Scott has the pragmatic knowledge to design homes which are practical to build and with efficient use of materials. We take pride in providing documents that are accurate and complete, and involve our clientele in early decision making processes to avoid expensive changes during construction. We are rewarded by ease of communications with contractors and comments such as "this is the best set of plans I’ve ever worked from." We will walk you through the whole design process and provide you with "decision shopping lists" as needed to finalize the design project. What you receive, after this process is complete, is a detailed set of construction documents that provide very specific information for all aspects of the architectural project. This will allow you to get very accurate bids from various contractors and safeguard against possible overruns/delays caused by missing or non-specific identification of materials or assemblies.

We are also available for Bidding/Negotiation and Construction Administration services. This is often preferable for larger or complex projects, or for out of town clients. At this stage, our expertise will insure your project doesn’t lose its focus. We will review potential changes for their design and budget impact. We will verify that the project is being constructed as per the construction documents. We will act as your agent to safeguard your interests throughout the construction process.
